My final project proposal will be about character. I will discuss how a poorly written character can decrease the quality of a story, and how a well-written character can improve the quality of a story.
The audience will find it useful because it will help them improve how to write a good character for a story, and in turn, how to act out those character's traits
Qualities of a good character:
Motivation to change--why are they unsatisfied with their current life?
Incentive to join the conflict--what's a stake?
Relatable--what do they have in common with the audience?
Original content: Character- Dameon
He's a high school student who wants to go to hero college, and is rejected. He is forced to go to a villain school by his super villain father.
There's a large scale villain attack brewing at villain school. Dameon, who wants to prove that he is worthy of going to the hero college, decides to prepare to fight the villain attack.
Dameon feels alone in his stance, but discovers that among the many villains there are a few at the villain school who feel the same way he does, and are willing to join him.
Motivation to change: Dameon is unsatisfied with being forced to go to a villain school. He feels like he doesn't belong.
Incentive to join conflict: The conflict is that he's stuck at a place he hates. His incentive to fight back is the hope that he will be able to attend hero school.
Relatable: Dameon is relatable because many people feel stuck in work, education, or an environment that's the opposite of what they want. Dameon's character can inspire those people to take action and improve their situation.
